What to Expect

An initial assessment involves listening to the history of your injury and how this currently impacts activities of daily living and quality of life. Using this information we target a clinical examination of your injury and provide an accurate diagnosis as a result. Our job is to reassure you of a plan of treatment and rehabilitation or a referral to one of our specialist in our comprehensive network.

We completely understand that it’s not easy to have an injury that is preventing you from doing what you want to do. We will endeavour to work with you to provide the best way of managing the problem in order to plan to get you back on track whilst not losing site of your expectations. The aim is to assist and facilitate healing through modern rehabilitation methods and our hands-on treatments, to promote recovery returning you to your injury free lifestyle.

Shockwave therapy, is clinically proven and recognised by The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) as a valuable adjunct in speeding up the recovery of tendonopathies and stimulating healing of persistent tendon based injuries.

Fix physio offers this non-invasive and effective technology. It works by delivering mechanical sound waves via an applicator to the affected tendon to provoke a healing response at a cellular level, reducing pain and assisting in the ultimate healing of the issue.

Virtual Physiotherapy

At Fix Physio we understand that people have very busy lives and it is sometimes not easy to make time to travel to an appointment. To make your life easier we can offer you a virtual appointment to discuss your issue, and direct you on appropriate management or rehabilitation.

Video consultations have been seen to be an effective and safe way of providing high quality physiotherapy treatment, which is delivered in a slightly different way when compared to traditional face-to-face therapy.

What to Expect

Don’t panic it’s extremely easy process and you don’t have to be an IT Expert to set it up!

On the day of your appointment, we will send you a link via email to attend a zoom session. The appointment can take place via phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer as long as the device has Internet/Wi-Fi capabilities and most importantly a camera and microphone. You will need a quiet space to allow us chat which in some cases can be hard to come by with young families running around.

The format of your appointment is similar to a face-to-face consultation in so far as its structure; a comprehensive discussion about your injury, followed by very specific clinical examination and finally your bespoke physio’s treatment.

What to Expect

Sports and Exercise Medicine (SEM) Consultants are specialists, skilled in the delivery of Musculoskeletal Medicine. The specialty has a large-scale application in managing and improving the health of the general public through exercise advice and prescription - Description from NHS England 2021.

The Consultant SEM possesses excellent clinical and examination skills, enabling accurate diagnosis. SEM’s work closely with our Physiotherapists to take a holistic  approach to your care and understand the specific physical attributes required to return you to an injury free lifestyle.
